First Nature Notes: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Dear Friends of First Nature Foundation,
We hope your holiday season has been joyful and not too busy. As for us, we’ve been busier than normal at the ranch, and we are delighted by it! Below we’ll share some of the excitement with you. We are now preparing for the cold weather that’s due this week…all the horse blankets are at the ready! Happily, our new replacement cupola has been installed, and the outside stall ceilings on our barn have been repaired, so all of our hurricane damage is now behind us.

Our third cohort of veterans in Horse Wisdom for Heroes proudly graduated the program on December 17th. We are now arranging the date when the next cohort will start. Do you know of any other veterans organizations that might be interested in bringing groups of veterans to the ranch for additional programming? Please forward our information to them and put us in touch! And we are always looking for sponsors and donors to help us mitigate these costs for the veterans, so please give generously, especially now at year-end, to help us with our 2023 programming! We have also been in talks to bring women enrolled in a substance and alcohol abuse program at The Transition House to the ranch for a program specifically for their needs.

One of the Central Florida Marriot Vacations divisions brought executives to the ranch this month during a fun Horseplay for Leaders introductory program. They learned a lot and had a great time, and they are coming back for another module of the program in February. We also hosted a planning retreat for a local Northwestern Mutual office, as well as a small wedding. Just a note that we do not normally entertain hosting weddings, but this was a special favor for a treasured neighbor. However, we are willing to host events if there is any alignment with our mission. Please email us for availability and details: kerul@firstnaturefoundation.org.

Seats are starting to fill for our Wine & Dessert Tasting Fundraiser, scheduled for Friday, February 10 from 7 to 9pm. Treat yourself and someone special to an elegant evening of exclusive wines and handcrafted desserts. Want to join us? Please sign up here.
We are also hosting a horsemanship clinic in January with Michelle Smith, a Happy Horse Happy Life Instructor. Michelle has been working with our horses for almost a year to help us keep them well-mannered, fit, and happy program co-facilitators. She has worked wonders with everyone, and we are so grateful to have her expertise.

Know of an organization that might be interested or any groups or experts who might want to run a program or two at the ranch? Please email Kerul using the address above or pass this info on to those you believe would be interested.
We continue our search for new board members! If you have some financial expertise to help guide our budgeting decisions, or are well-connected in our region to help create more visibility for our nonprofit, we would LOVE to talk to you! Just reply to this email.
As always, I’m happy to offer private individual tours. It's the best way to understand our vision and to see it in person! Please share my information with those you think might be interested: kerul@firstnaturefoundation.org or message me on Facebook to set up a time.

Take care and a Happy New Year!
