First Nature Notes: More hurricane fun and more damage!
Dear Friends of First Nature Foundation,
We hope your Thanksgiving time has been happy and healthy, with much to be grateful for. We are grateful for so many things! Our wonderful staff, our generous donors and sponsors, our new replacement cupola, which has arrived is awaiting installation, new clients and program opportunities. We are also grateful to our volunteers, including Presley and Tate, who help us remove our rusted old corral panels and set up new ones. The horses are enjoying the shiny new galvanized corral panels for their feeding/grooming stalls! In early 2023 we will have some walled shelters built for the horses in which they can find relief from driving hurricane rains and chilling winter winds so stay tuned!
We are halfway through Horse Wisdom for Heroes with our third cohort of veterans in the program, and they will graduate next month shortly before Christmas. We are grateful to The Transition House for their support in bringing these men to the ranch for the program and providing a mental health professional while they are there. Do you know of other veteran-run or veteran-centered organizations that might be interested in bringing cohorts of veterans to the ranch for additional programming? Please forward our information to them and put us in touch! And we are always looking for sponsors and donors to help us mitigate these costs for the veterans, so please give generously!
We have a number of events coming up at the end of this year and in the beginning of the new year! These include Wine & Dine Your Valentine, a wine tasting fundraiser the weekend before Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 10. Want to join us? Please sign up here!
We are also excited to be hosting some upcoming retreats, several Horseplay for Leaders programs for corporate clients, and private events, all scheduled for the winter months.
